GEORGE REYES
Co Director / Producer / Cinematographer
Born to Colombian immigrants, he graduated from Harvard University and New York University's graduate
film school. He went on to serve as director of the Cambridge, Massachusetts based Teen Media Program at
the Community Art Center where he and a group of his students founded the "Do it Your Damn Self!!
National Youth Video and Film Festival." He directed, shot, produced and edited numerous short films
while at Harvard and NYU that have been shown and have won awards in a variety of venues both nationally
and internationally. He worked as director of International Programs at the New York Film Academy and
later was invited to be a full-time professor in the Communications Dept. at the Tecnológico de Monterrey
(Monterrey Tech), in Mexico City. After four years in Mexico City, George moved to LA and worked for
the Sundance Film Festival and Sundance Institute in their International Feature Film Program.
He is currently a 2009 Project: Involve - Film Independent Fellow and working on "La Muñeca Fea"
(The Ugly Doll) as co-director, cinematographer and producer.
